Adam Shenk on Baeble.

Adam Shenk organically blends neo-soul, R&B and jazz to create his own neo-pop music genre. He is also quite the charmer; as I listened to his unfaltering story, I was immediately transported to his beautiful musical world. Adam considers himself an artist's artist. "I want people to feel it in their soul. I want them to feel like they were a part of the experience; that they weren't just passively watching, but they were into it and kind of right there with me..."

Apollo Run on Baeble.

"...Apollo Run's debut EP, Here Be Dragons, Vol. 1, was released last fall and the guys performed their last show of 2010 at Pianos in New York City (videos below) to a packed house of "Runners" (as they like to call their fans) and newcomers for a friend's birthday party. John, Graham and Jeff gave us a brilliant set complete with incredible harmonies, a trumpet solo, and a rocked-out version of Happy Birthday for the guest of honor. They closed the show with a fan favorite (and John's favorite), "All in Good Time," an acapella stomp-clap that forces everyone in the room to get involved (though it doesn't take much, it's a pretty damn catchy tune). The song also gives the crowd some quality time with the guys, as it all takes place in the audience..."

Hard Believer.

First Aid Kit are sisters Klara and Johanna Soderberg from Sweden and their folky sound and harmonies instantly drew me in! We filmed the "FOLK-AL" (their term, combining folk and vocal) pair during Baeble's Rockwood sessions this week during CMJ and I immediately came home and downloaded...

Not only are their voices and musical talents so incredibly amazing for being so young (17 and 19 respectively), but they're just so cute you want to pinch their cheeks. Although, I wouldn't recommend doing that. It's rude. ;)

Ra Ra Riot LIVE at The Music Hall of Williamsburg.

This was honestly one of the best shows I've been to in a long time (you know I go crazy for a lot of instruments)!!! Mis and I couldn't contain ourselves; we danced like crazy people and became even bigger fans than we were when we first walked in. Even now, as I'm writing this, I can't help but sing along to every song at the top of my lungs (thank goodness my roomates aren't home)!!! :)

Ingrid Michaelson LIVE at Rockwood Music Hall.

I love my job...

When Mis and I first moved to New York, we stumbled across Ingrid Michaelson's Myspace page and pretty much wore out every single song on 'Girls and Boys.' We even ventured out to Connecticut one night to see her perform at Toad's in New Haven...

But, like everything else, we eventually tired of the songs we had been listening to on repeat and moved on to other artists to become obsessed with for a time or two.

When I heard that Baeble was doing a session with Ingrid, I was really excited to revisit an old favorite. Her new stuff is great and of course it's different, because she's grown, and so have we.



I mean, let's be honest - THIS is how excited I was.
